Mrs. Michele Lytle
Born and raised just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michele Lytle is a part-time adjunct mathematics professor at Houston Community College, a position held since 2022. She currently serves as the Mathematics Department Chair at THE Willowridge High School in Fort Bend ISD, where she is proud to support student success and academic excellence.
Mrs. Lytle earned a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from Widener University. She began her career as a staff accountant at C-SPAN in Washington, D.C., and later worked as a senior financial analyst. Despite her accomplishments in corporate America, she discovered her passion for education while substitute teaching in the School District of Philadelphia beginning in 2000.
Since then, Mrs. Lytle has taught a full spectrum of high school math subjects and has held key leadership roles, including Instructional Coach and member of the Start-Up School Implementation Team with Camelot Education. In 2013, she moved to Houston to help launch Camelot’s largest alternative education program in partnership with Houston ISD.
She joined Fort Bend ISD in 2017 and has taught at Bush High School, Marshall High School, and now leads the math department at The Willowridge High School. She was named HAASBE (Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators) Teacher of the Year in both 2022–2023 and 2024–2025.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Michele earned her Master's degree in Secondary Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM focus from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). In pursuit of academic excellence, Michele will earn a graduate Master's certificate in mathematics at the University of Houston Downtown (Go Gators!) in Spring of 2026.
