Dr. Alexis Prudhomme
Dr. Alexis Prudhomme is proud to serve as the Principal of Cornerstone Elementary, where we are "Leading the PAC" and upholding a tradition of excellence that ranks us in the top 1% of schools in Texas. Under Dr. Prudhomme’s leadership, the school has implemented the Ron Clark Academy House System, fostering a strong sense of community, teamwork, and school spirit.
Dr. Prudhomme’s career in education has been focused on supporting elementary students and at-risk youth. She began her journey in Fort Bend ISD as a second-grade teacher at Dulles Elementary. Prior to joining Cornerstone, she served as an Assistant Principal at Lakeview Elementary for five years. Dr. Prudhomme has also taught second and third grades, worked as a resource teacher, and served as an Instructional Coach and TAP Mentor Teacher with the Calcasieu Parish School Board in Louisiana. In addition, she held the roles of Federal Funds Coordinator and RTI Coordinator for Calcasieu Parish, where she worked on ensuring effective allocation of resources and supporting student interventions. Before her career in education, Dr. Prudhomme served as a State Law Enforcement Officer for seven years, where she developed a passion for building positive relationships within the school community.
Dr. Prudhomme holds a Bachelor of Science from McNeese State University, a Master of Education in Administration, a Master of Education in Special Education from Lamar University, and a Doctorate in Executive Educational Leadership from Houston Christian University. She also published The Perceptions of Third Through Fifth Grade Teachers on the Effectiveness of District Reading Instruction Training as it Relates to Reading Achievement, contributing to the research in educational leadership and literacy.
Her mission is to empower students to reach their full potential and pursue futures beyond what they can imagine. Dr. Prudhomme is dedicated to ensuring the continued success of every student at Cornerstone Elementary and is excited to continue building on the school’s legacy of excellence.

Mrs. Jennifer Bartels
Mrs. Bartels is thrilled to join the Cornerstone Elementary School family and contribute to the continued success of the Chameleon community. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a teaching certification from Texas State University and later completed a master’s degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, Mrs. Bartels completed a Principal Certification program through Lamar University, further solidifying her commitment to educational leadership.
Beginning her career in St. Louis as a 7th Grade ELA and Social Studies teacher, Mrs. Bartels has taught both elementary and middle school students before transitioning into administration. For the past five years, she has worked at the district level in Teaching & Learning, focusing on literacy curriculum and instruction, assessment design, grading practices, professional learning community systems and structures, and professional development for educators and leaders. These experiences have provided a wealth of opportunities to grow and lead in various capacities.
As a passionate educator and advocate for students, Mrs. Bartels is dedicated to making Cornerstone Elementary a place where all students excel academically and embody the Chameleon spirit by showcasing their "True Colors." She looks forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families, celebrating their successes, and continuing to learn and grow alongside the Cornerstone community.
