I am filled with pride and enthusiasm to serve as the principal of Townewest Elementary. I am honored to lead a campus with such a rich tradition of excellence, and I am committed to creating an environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to succeed.
I began my career in education as a classroom teacher in 2005, with experience teaching 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade. I later served as a campus reading specialist, where I developed a deep passion for literacy. For the past 11 years, I have proudly served as an assistant principal right here in Fort Bend ISD, where I had the opportunity to grow as an instructional leader while supporting teachers, students, and families across various school communities.
As principal, I believe that relationships are the foundation of everything we do. I am committed to building strong, trusting partnerships with the entire Townewest community. With our 'boots on the ground' and hearts in the classrooms, we’re making every step count toward success!

Mrs. Stephanie Johnson

Meet Mrs. Stephanie Cola Johnson, Assistant Principal of Townewest Elementary
Hi there! I’m incredibly excited and honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Townewest Elementary. Education has been my calling for as long as I can remember—I’ve been volunteering and working in schools since I was 14 years old. What started as a passion quickly became my purpose.
I was born and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) and went on to receive my Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern University in Baton Rouge (SSSSSSU – Go Jags).
I officially began my teaching career in 2001, working in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. After five years in the classroom, I made a life-changing move to Texas in 2005—the great state I’d dreamed of living in since I was a little girl.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving Texas students in a variety of leadership roles: Language Arts Coordinator, GT Coordinator, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher, Professional Development Partner for Fort Bend ISD, and, most recently, Instructional Coach. Each of these roles has deepened my commitment to student success, teacher support, and strong school communities.
I’m also a proud doctoral candidate at the University of Houston–Clear Lake (Go Hawks!), where I earned my principal certification and continue working toward my Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
On a personal note, I’m the proud wife of my husband, Marcus, and together we’re raising two amazing children—one an Elkins graduate and the other a sophomore at Ridge Point High School. So when I talk about the importance of quality instruction, strong family-school partnerships, and student safety, I’m speaking as both an educator and a parent.
Protecting, guiding, and empowering our students—especially here in FBISD—is not just my job; it’s my heart's work. I look forward to serving Townewest Elementary with energy, integrity, and a whole lot of love.
Let’s make this a great year!
