Welcome to the Home of the Scotties! I am honored to be the Principal of Highlands Elementary. The wonderful staff, students, and parents at Highlands make our school a great school. Our learning community values the importance of working together to provide our students with an excellent education! Our school has a shared vision that all students will be successful as we inspire our students to have a love for learning.

My career in education started in 1984 in Arkansas where I spent seven years as a classroom teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Arkansas and I earned my Master’s degree in School Administration from Arkansas State University. I have a Mid-Management and School Counseling certifications. 

Fort Bend ISD has been my home for the past 23 years. My journey in Fort Bend first started at Mission West Elementary where I was a counselor. I was also fortunate to open Brazos Bend as their counselor. In 2001 I started my career path as an administrator when I became the Assistant Principal at Oyster Creek Elementary School.  My first role as Principal was at Hunters Glen Elementary. This is my second year to be Principal at Highlands Elementary.

It is hard to believe it has been 32 years that I have dedicated my life to the joy of making a difference in the lives of children.  I am thankful for my dream to become a teacher because it reminds me of how truly important it is each day to equip every child to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine!

Being a member of the Highland’s family is a true blessing, whether you are a student, a parent, or an educator. The words of our school song ring true!  “Highlands Elementary School is the place I want to be” because for me, there’s no place I’d rather be!

It is a privilege to serve the students, staff, and parents at Highlands Elementary as the Assistant Principal. Fort Bend ISD has always been near and dear to me as I am a Dulles High School graduate.  I attended Sam Houston State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Texas A & M University and earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and Concordia University earning a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision. I began my teaching career at Meadows Elementary in FBISD as a First grade teacher.

My husband and I have two grown children. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to our ranch, water skiing, and snow skiing.
