Scheduling Policy
Each spring, students meet with their counselors for an informational session and select courses for the upcoming school year. In March, students are given an opportunity to verify their course requests in Skyward Q before the Master Schedule is created.
Course requests determine which classes are offered and how many sections are scheduled. Once the Master Schedule is finalized, course changes are limited in order to maintain class size balance and minimize academic disruption.
Schedule Change Guidelines
Schedule changes will only be considered for the following reasons:
- The student is enrolled in a class they have already completed.
- The student is placed in a gender-specific PE/Athletics class incorrectly.
- The student is missing a required prerequisite for a course.
To request a change:
- Submit a Schedule Change Request Form to your counselor.
- Forms are available in the MCMS Counseling Office.
- The deadline to submit schedule change requests is within the first 9 school days of the school year.

Courses are for a full year.
