Jessica Johnson – Instructional Literacy Coach
With over 13 years of experience in education, Jessica Johnson is deeply committed to empowering teachers and inspiring students to reach their highest potential. Her career began as a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department, where she developed a strong foundation in individualized instruction and student support. A year later, she transitioned into the classroom as a 4th-grade English Language Arts teacher, where she spent six years nurturing a love of reading and writing in her students.
Now serving in her fourth year as an Instructional Literacy Coach, Jessica believes that the most powerful way to impact student achievement is by investing in teachers. She is passionate about building collaborative partnerships that focus on implementing evidence-based literacy practices, refining instruction, and fostering a culture of continuous growth. Guided by the belief that literacy is the cornerstone of education, Jessica strives to ensure that every child is equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed.
Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University—Ax’em Jacks! and is certified to teach EC–6. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Counseling, furthering her ability to support the academic and emotional growth of both students and staff.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys reading science fiction and mystery novels, listening to true crime podcasts, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is a proud mother of two daughters, Justice (11) and Marly (3).
Her ultimate goal is to cultivate a campus culture where every teacher feels supported, every student thrives, and the love of literacy transforms learning for all.
