Mrs. Stephanie Russell
In 2007, I started my educational journey choreographing cheer and dance routines at my local high school. Since then I have choreographed musicals all over the state city of Houston and surrounding areas. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors in Communication and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Previously, I taught Speech, Student Leadership, and Dance while teaching for three years at Spring High School, while being the Assistant Dance Director and PALS Sponsor. While working at Austin High School in FBISD, I taught English I, II, and III and Student Leadership while being the Student Council Sponsor for five years. Here is where my educational leadership began, becoming a Team Lead, leading and creating professional development, joining FBISD cohorts, and serving on multiple committees. In 2019, I transferred to Travis High School as an English II teacher and Team Lead. Since then, I have held many roles, such as Team Lead, English Department Head, AVID teacher and Coordinator, TAPP Mentor, and Freshmen Dance Team Director, while serving and leading numerous committees. In 2022, I had the honor of being awarded Teacher of the Year at Travis High School and a FBISD District Teacher of the Year Finalist.
As I begin my 13th year in education, I am thrilled to be the assistant principal for Alpha Split Can-Gar at the greatest high school in FBISD!
