• Welcome to the First Colony Middle School Sign Language Club!

     

    As the only middle school in FBISD to have a Deaf Education program, the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD), we are proud to be able to share this with our fellow Bobcats.

     

    The purpose of the club is to teach basic American Sign Language to the larger school community through a core group of students. The class will be taught by Deaf Education personnel (teachers and interpreters).

     

    Everyone is welcome - all grades, any/all levels of skill or experience! There is no deadline to join.

     

    The requirements for the club are:

    • Have a genuine interest in sign language
    • Attend meetings twice a month (every other Tuesday), from 8:20am - 8:50am
    • Willingness to practice, practice, practice!
    • Maintain appropriate behavior and respect for Deaf culture and community

     

    Sign Language Club is for fun, but it is still a commitment. Every effort should be made to attend each meeting.
