I am excited to be working with our terrific Travis Tigers again; this is my eighth year teaching at Travis. Prior to teaching in public schools, I earned teaching awards as a Graduate Student Teacher at the University of California, Irvine, where I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees and advanced to candidacy for a Ph.D in the Social Sciences. After arriving in Texas (I am Kansas born and raised 20 years), I volunteered in FBISD schools while raising my three sons (all FBISD graduates). Literacy skills are essential for success and satisfaction in life. Trained in both Project Read and Reading by Design, I am eager to help students improve their skills and increase their self-confidence.
