My name is Rosy Patel and I will be your child's first-grade teacher this year. I have been teaching for sixteen years and this is my 12th year here at Commonwealth Elementary (Go Cougars!). I am ecstatic to call Commonwealth my home! I grew up in Missouri City and attended FBISD schools from elementary all the way through high school. I attended the University of Houston where I received my Bachelor's in Business Administration and my MBA. I worked for Reliant Energy for nearly 10 years until I had my first child. I was then a stay at home mom. Once my youngest child entered school I became a teacher. I lived in the Commonwealth Subdivision for over 15 years prior to moving to the Avalon area.  I have been married to my husband Ash for thirty-one years and we have two wonderful boys, Shrayen and Dhilan. Shrayen and Dhilan both attended Commonwealth Elementary School.  Shrayen graduated from college last year and is working in Austin. Dhilan is attending the University of Texas at Austin.

I am pleased to have your child in my class this year.  I will do everything I can to make this an exciting and fulfilling year for your child. I have high expectations for my students and look forward to helping your child reach his or her full potential and have a successful year.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child. I also look forward to working with you as we guide your child. We are going to have a wonderful year together! I know you will love Commonwealth just as much as Shrayen and Dhilan did!
