The Dulles Middle School Orchestra is one of the largest string programs in FBISD. DMS Orchestra has been recognized nationally and internationally, winning awards throughout the years at many festivals and competitions. The DMS Symphony orchestra was recognized at The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Concert in 2000, 2009, and 2016. They were also recognized as commended winners by The Foundation of Music Education for the last few years and Superior ratings at the Directors Choice Festivals. Each year, the DMS Orchestras have consistently earned sweepstakes ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-reading contests. In 2022, the DMS Symphony Orchestra was invited to play at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention. In 2025, the DMS Symphony Orchestra was Runner-Up in the 2024-2025 TMEA Honors Orchestra competition, and this summer, the DMS Symphony was named third finalist in the 2025-2026 TMEA Full Honor Orchestra Competition.
