Hello and welcome!

I’m Mrs. Martinez, and I am so excited to be your Math teacher.

I was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina — fun fact, I graduated from Laney High School, just like Michael Jordan! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Math and Science from Fayetteville State University. I later completed a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family — my husband, our energetic son, and our two playful dogs, Correa and Lola. We enjoy fishing, playing board and card games, cornhole, solving puzzles, and traveling. When we’re not home, we’re usually at a baseball or football field cheering on our son. We are proud Houston Texans fans!

Just like in sports, I believe success in the classroom comes from teamwork, effort, and a positive attitude. Our math class will be student-centered, which means you’ll take an active role in your learning. We’ll work together in teams, challenge ourselves, and celebrate each other’s progress. I’ll be your coach — here to guide, support, and encourage you as you build confidence and grow your math skills.
