Greetings,

I am Mrs. Pilgram, the 2024-25, 6th Grade Special Education S.A.I.L.S. (Succeeding in Academic and Independent Living Skills) teacher at Christa McAuliffe Middle School.  I am looking forwards to working with you and your students this school year.  I am ready to help your children to be the best they can be based on their individual abilities. This is my 5th year at Christa McAuliffe and my 3rd year as the S.A.I.L.S. teacher.  Before S.A..I.L.S,  I was a 6th grade ELA Resources teacher, and In-class support teacher for ELA and Math.

I currently possess 14 years of Special Education experience, 5 years as a Special Education assistant, 9 years as a certified SPED teacher, holding certifications in SPED EC-12, and 4-8 ELA.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Education/ELA from The University of Memphis, and my Master's degree from Houston Baptist University in Higher Education with a concentration in Counseling.  Admittedly, I must say that I did not choose Special Education, but Special Education chose me, and with it having done so, there is nothing I would change about this being the professional choice for me.  I have had the pure pleasure and joy of crossing paths with some amazing individuals whose exceptionalities have not been a hindrance to them, but have added amazing qualities to them as an individual.  Being a Special Education teacher, I have learned so much about student differentiation and so much more about myself and my abilities as a Special Education teacher.
