Mrs. Joy Stackhouse

Hello! I'm thrilled to be your 5th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher this year!. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Minor in African World Studies. I have a Masters in Education in Teaching and Learning. I come from a family of educators and pastors. I have been in the education field for more than 10 years in various capacities such as: Paraprofessional, Director of Children's Ministry, K-11th grade Math/ELAR teacher for Sylvan Learning Center, 6th Grade Social Studies teacher and as an Elementary ELAR/SS teacher and team lead. Every experience has given me better insight into reaching students in diverse ways.

I believe in active and intentional learning. My teaching and learning philosophy is simplistic and purposeful in it's approach. I'm excited to learn and grow with all of you this year!

    Tutorials will be scheduled before classes begin in the mornings beginning at 7:30.

    Tutorials are 15-25 minutes in duration.
