• Hello! 

    My name is Angela Carter Iwu (pronounced E-wu), and I'm excited to serve as the librarian at Burton Elementary! This will be my second year as a librarian.

    I am looking forward to supporting and encouraging students to be life-long learners and readers! I have been in education for 13 years and have worked with all grades Pre-K – 12th.

    I am a Houston native who’s lived in various suburbs in the Houston Area – currently Fresno, but previously lived in Clear Lake, Katy, and Manvel. I attended the University of Houston – main campus for my bachelor’s degree and the University of Clear Lake for my first Master’s in Instructional Technology. I’m attending Texas Women’s University for my second master’s in library science and school librarianship. I have two children – a 24-year-old daughter that graduated from the University of Houston – Main campus too, and a 14-year-old son who’ll be going into 9th grade. We also have two dogs and a cat. I love reading, traveling, watching movies, and listening to music.  

    I'm looking forward to another fantastic year in the library and my first fabulous year at Burton with you and your students!
