Melyssa Thompson

Hello!

My name is Melyssa Thompson. I am an educator with over 24 years of teaching expertise, specializing in English as a Second Language (ESL). Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse student populations, helping non-native English speakers develop language skills that support academic success and everyday communication.

With a passion for language learning and cultural exchange, I have taught in a variety of settings—from public schools and adult education centers to international classrooms. I am known for creating inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environments where all learners feel valued and empowered.

In addition to my classroom work, I have led professional development workshops for fellow educators, contributed to curriculum design, and served as a mentor for new ESL teachers. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Administration, a Master's Degree in Education and an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and I remain committed to continuous learning and innovation in the field of language education.

  • I facilitate coaching and learning at Rita Drabek and Oyster Creek Elementary schools.

My schedule will follow a 3/2 and 2/3 schedule each week.

  • This schedule will be as needed.
