Zaid Kaleemullah is a graduating senior from Kempner High School. He is a dedicated member of the Kempner Swim Team, National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), and the Spanish Honor Society. Through his involvement, Zaid has received numerous honors, including earning double varsity letters, being recognized as a 2024 AP Scholar with Distinction, and receiving the Scholastic Art and Writing Award in 2024 and 2025. Outside of school, Zaid is the founder of a nonprofit ride-share company that reinvests its profits into underserved Muslim communities across the Greater Houston area. His initiative has helped over 500 youths find connection, purpose, and a community where they truly belong. He is also actively involved in academic research and is currently a student researcher in two college-level research programs at the University of Houston. As part of these research teams, he contributes to ongoing studies that aim to improve public health outcomes and advance psychological and behavioral research. Through his Capstone studies, Zaid explored how the brain develops in response to technology use and how it affects academic performance. He hopes this research will continue to expand and ultimately influence how educators adapt to the rising presence of technology in learning environments. After graduating from high school, Zaid plans to major in Public Health at the prestigious College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at the University of Houston.
