Gifted and Talented at Commonwealth Elementary

  • Identified students in grades K-5 are cluster grouped with GT-trained teachers in the core subject areas of English language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics.  Program services for identified Kindergarten students begin in March as mandated by the state.

    Magdalena Spurlock is our designated COGS, or Champion of Gifted Services at CWE.  She is passionate about supporting teachers and students as they navigate the ever-changing world of Gifted Education in Fort Bend ISD.

District-Wide GT Announcements

  • The Fall GT Referral Window is now open.  Parents may refer their child through the GT App with the student's FBISD ID number.  The deadline for referral is September 30, 2025.

    The GT Department is aware that the GT App referral portal is experiencing technical issues.  Please be patient as we work through this issue with our technology team.
